This Easy Open Tear Tape is manufactured from oriented polypropylene (OPE) or biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive. It is specifically designed for courier envelopes, poly mailers, bubble mailers, and light-duty corrugated boxes, allowing recipients to open the package cleanly along a predefined path without knives or other tools.
The tape also serves as a sealing medium, keeping the envelope closed and secure during transit while enabling convenient opening. It is suitable for standard envelope sizes such as DL (110 mm × 220 mm) and C6 (114 mm × 162 mm) as defined in ISO 269, as well as various non-standard courier envelope formats.

ISO 527-3:2018 – Tensile Properties of Plastic Films
This standard specifies the conditions for determining the tensile properties of plastic films or sheets less than 1 mm thick. Tensile strength and elongation at break of both the base film and the finished tape are tested according to this standard. For materials thicker than 1 mm, ISO 527-2 applies.
ISO 6383-1:2015 – Tear Resistance of Plastic Film (Trouser Tear Method)
This standard specifies a method for determining the tear resistance of plastic film or sheet less than 1 mm thick using standard trouser-shaped test specimens, tested under defined conditions of pre-treatment, temperature, humidity, and speed. The tear strength of this product is measured accordingly to ensure clean tearing along the intended path without deviation or breakage.
ISO 29862:2024 – Peel Adhesion of Pressure-Sensitive Tapes
This standard specifies methods for measuring the peel adhesion of self-adhesive tapes. Method 1 measures peel adhesion at 180° from a stainless steel surface. The peel adhesion of this product is tested according to Method 1.
ISO 29863:2018 – Static Shear Adhesion of Pressure-Sensitive Tapes
This standard specifies methods for determining the ability of a pressure-sensitive tape to remain adhered under a constant load applied parallel to the surfaces of the tape and substrate. It includes Methods A through G. This product is tested according to Method A (vertical standard steel plate) to evaluate its ability to maintain adhesion on envelope surfaces over time.
ISO 4593:1993 – Thickness of Plastic Film and Sheeting
This standard specifies a method for determining the thickness of a sample of plastics film or sheeting by mechanical scanning. It is not suitable for use with embossed film or sheeting. Because some easy open tear tapes have a textured or micro-structured surface, ISO 4593 applies only to the unembossed base film. Finished total thickness requires alternative methods such as cross-section microscopy.
This product is manufactured and inspected under an ISO 9001 quality management system. Each batch undergoes tensile strength, tear strength, peel adhesion, and visual inspection to ensure batch-to-batch consistency.
Free samples, technical data sheets, and third-party test reports are available upon request.
Each roll is individually wrapped for moisture and dust protection.
Storage conditions: 15–30°C, 40%–70% RH, away from direct sunlight.
Shelf life: 12 months from date of manufacture under unopened, properly stored conditions.
The overall transport reliability of courier envelopes and small parcels can be evaluated using the ISTA 3A test procedure. ISTA 3A is a comprehensive transport test protocol developed by the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) for individual packaged-products, applicable to parcels weighing up to 70 kg with a longest dimension not exceeding 150 cm. It covers temperature and humidity conditioning, random vibration, shock, and drop tests. When this easy open tear tape is used as the sealing material on envelopes, passing ISTA 3A as part of the complete package further validates its sealing retention and opening performance in real logistics environments.
